10 Essential Oils for Stress Management

As a mom who works at home with a three year old, my mood can vary on a day to day basis. From toddler meltdown, to broken sleep, to a kid who doesn’t nap anymore and a husband who rotates shifts every single week- life is chaotic at best. While I do lots of things to practice self care, something that has been super integral for me has been adding in Essential Oils into our daily routine. Things natural volatile aromatic compounds have done wonders to calm me down, diffuse my anger, lift my mood, and settle my nerves in some of the most stressful times in my day.

Here are my top 10 oils that I use on a weekly basis, how I use them, and how they help me

Frankincense– Often called the “king of oils,” Frankincense promotes feelings of peace and overall wellness when used aromatically.

I personally put one drop of oil directly under my tongue once a day (typically in the morning)* and when I am feeling extremely overwhelmed – I will rub it on the back of my neck or the bottoms of my feet

Clary Sage– With uses dating back to the Middle Ages, Clary Sage essential oil includes relaxing and soothing properties.

Clary Sage is a perfect oil for me when I am exhibiting PMS symptoms. I get highly irritable, anxious, and overwhelmed easily. This pairs beautifully as a natural perfume while relaxing me. I typically put this on all my “pulse points” throughout the day

Jasmine can be uplifting to the mood.

I love that this comes in a pre-diluted roller and it fits nicely in my purse. It’s simple and easy to just roll on my heart center or pulse points for a calming aroma. 

Rose can be applied throughout the day to uplift your mood.

Rose pairs beautifully with Jasmine above for a nice overall floral scent. I love rolling this directly behind my ears and along my collarbone.

Ylang Ylang–  provides a calming effect and promoting a positive outlook.

If I am using Clary Sage, I am generally also using Ylang Ylang as they pair quite nicely together. To me- Clary Sage is more earthy smelling and Ylang Ylang is more floral- so they blend nicely without being over powering. This also is put on my “pulse points” for an overall calming essence. 

Balance promotes tranquility while bringing harmony to the mind and body, and balance to the emotions.

If I had to pick a personal favorite blend, this would be it. Balance is my go to anytime I am sampling anyone for mood management. It pairs nicely with any floral or woodsy smells, and overall provides me instant relief when my heart is overly anxious or worried. I use this on the base of my neck most frequently.

Elevation As the name suggests, Elevation is an invigorating combination of essential oils that blends euphoric scents to elevate your mood, promote feelings of confidence, and increase your energy.

I enjoy this best in a diffuser in my home or my car. Happiness all around!

Whisper- experience calming emotions throughout the day with this complex and diverse blend that combines with each individual’s chemistry to create a uniquely personal fragrance.
