Postpartum affects everyone differently. While I suffered from a much more depressed and unworthy period after my first daughter, I’ve had several friends reach out to me about having lots of anger about things, particularly towards their spouse.
Anger typically leads to resentment and mistrust when left unsettled, so it’s important to make sure you can get to the root of the issue. Why are you feeling these feelings? What brings them on? What would help you feel less angry?
Ylang Ylang is a perfect essential oil to use in this situation. Why? Because its chemical make up is specific to help with emotional wounds of anger, hurt, anxiety and helps to release tension to create an elevation of euphoria and trust.
Best application methods for Ylang Ylang are:
Diffusion (blends well with Bergamot, Clary Sage, Rose, and other floral varietals).
Inhalation (place a drop in the palm of your hand and inhale deeply 3 times)
Topically on your skin. Make sure to avoid damaged or diseased skin areas and use dilution if you feel your skin may be irritated by contact. My favorite places for topical use in an emotional sense are: back of your neck, behind your ears, and over your heart center.
