Do you ever get in a routine of how you use your essential oils? As humans, we are creatures of habit and it’s easy to get stuck with using the same essential oils over and over again and forgetting about the wide range available to us. Not only that, but sometimes we forget there are 3 common ways to USE essential oils.
Due to continual research being done on essential oils, more application methods are being developed.
The three methods dōTERRA recommends for using essential oils are aromatically, topically, and internally.
Essential oils have a powerful effect on the limbic system when used aromatically. Aromatically can instantly uplift moods, change stress factors and create pattern interrupts so that we can choose a different response method in times of stress.
Topical application is commonly used on specific target areas for quick absorption. Think about when you have irritation to the skin, or soreness in your muscles- this is when Topical application can be most beneficial.
When used internally, essential oils enter the bloodstream and are distributed throughout the body. I typically use internal application during times of illness or lower immune system activity to help quickly get over something before it becomes a bigger problem.
